Suppose this could hav gone in milsurp too...nyon out there own a CZ52? Lots of Tok's around bu I haven't seen any 52's.

They look a little more finely made, but I've only seen pics. Anyone on one?

I have a Tokarev (Polish) and a CZ-52. They're both self-loading pistols that use a box magazine located in the grip, but that's where the similarity ends. The Tokarev was a composite of adopted designs, with just a little original design, for rapid production. It's cheap, rugged and reliable. The CZ-52 was a completely original design for sophisticated manufacturing. It's also rugged and reliable, but relatively expensive. The philosophy behind the two designs is quite different.

They aren't really any better made, but they do look more modern. The Tt-33 is all milled steel and forgings, where the 52 is stampings and castings. Also, the Tt-33 is far stronger then the 52, due to the small amount of material left around the roller lock cutouts in the chamber area.

If possible, avoid the norc tok clones, as i've seen several with problems and the polish and russian ones are just as cheap, and much nicer manufacture.

The 52 will feel a bit nicer in the hand, but i find that the tok is much more pleasant to actually shoot. Both display about the same level of accuracy.

My Brother in Law has one and i have had the pleasure of shooting it ...
Actually i was with him at a gun show in the US when he spied it and wanted to borrow $100 from me so he could buy it..
I think he paid $125 for it.. When he got it home he stripped it and then we shot it in his back yard.. ( he lives in the country, and yah i know what a luxury huh, )..

I could not miss with this pistol.. wow.. This was before started shooting pistols so my abilities sucked.. LOL.. so to speak..
but i emptied a magazine and could not miss.. with the CZ52..
before this we were shooting his HiPoint 45 and i could not hit the broad side of a barn with that pistol..

so I really like the CZ52 and would buy one if i ever had the cash when they come up on the EE..
I think they go for between $350 and 450.. when they do..

I had one for a while but I found that there was alot of light strikes on the primers. The firing pin is cast so it is not robust. Also there is no tab on the slide release lever so it can be a pain to lock the slide back. It would be a better gun if these issues did not exist
