CZ527 - Does the "hood" come off of the front sight?

I'm not a fan of the hood on the front sight of the CZ527. Just wondering if it comes off. If so, is the front sight swappable with any after market sights?

Yes the hood comes off, but I am unsure if you could get any other style front sight.

hood came off, and a piece of my finger did as well when it finally let go and i got snagged on the point... i found that painting the tip white (and the seat of the rear sight too) helped, sako-style.... never looked into the aftermarket sights.

Epps carries a fair amount of CZ rifles. If there isn't one in stock, I'm sure they're connected enough to source one for you pretty quick.
