I'm curious as to whether anyone on here has decided to replace the stock on their 557 that uses magazines instead of the floorplate. I've got one of the parts bin special 557's that has the hogsback stock and no open sights that were for sale a few years back. I love mine but I've never really been a fan of the stock shape and after a few wet weather hunts this year I've been considering replacing it instead of just refinishing it for use in damp conditions.
Boyds does make stocks for the short action 557 but it appears they only make them for the floorplate models. Has anyone used one on an external mag rifle before or knows if they are the same dimensions? Or does anyone know of any other stock makers that make them for the 557?
