CZ75 magazine basepad recommendation?

Hi,

I have eight CZ75 magazines in total. Three are the version with the red aluminum slip on base pad that came with the pistol (Cdn edition) and five are the regular CZ. It appears that the black plastic base pads on the three with the red aluminum base pads may be thinner than the five regular.

I place pretty high value on consistency so I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on how to get all 8 the same?

You could buy bases for all of them that replace the whole plastic half of the mag. It gets a bit expensive but it's likely the only way to get them all the same

I just got a CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow and am looking to get into IPSC and looking for bases for my mags as well. Any recommendations?

I sold my 11 cz 75 mags and went to tanfoglio mags with rubber base pads. The Tanfo mags are imho a much better magazine. COst was approximately $75 per mag with the rubber base pads. They are IPSC legal for production.

I agree with this. Basepads for CZ mags are for full length metal magazines, not the neutered half plastic ones.
I would keep the red ones you have and just use them as "loader mags" (barney mags) to top to 11 at the start, and buy all new full length mags and get whatever base pad you like. Some like the rubber IWI ones (off ebay, Israel shipped for $20 cdn each) or the aluminium ones.

Tanfoglio mags are great (red follower) and I also use the ones from corwin arms (black follower). The best mags out there (imo) are the mec gar ones with the blue followers, but i've got too many mags now to start swapping them. :)

i really like my mecgar's with +2's I use them full capacity in USA. They run really well, way more reliable basepad than the cz sp-01 mags in US (18 rounder). I've had id fly off on one mag 3 times, once during a stage. switched to the mecgar 19 rounders after.

and FYI cz custom makes aluminum full length basepads for those mags. A bit pricey but they do make em.

Thanks for all the information. I have ordered 5 of the Mecgar with +2 basepads to test out. I'll update the thread once I have tried them out.

You will like the setup. That's my setup for my Shadow2 in IPSC. Packed away the original 2 pc mags.

Hi Guys,

Short update. Ended up buying two more of the Canadian Edition mags from Wolverine for the ridiculous price of $100 each but now I have five which was a great number for my first two IPSC matches. Used one of the OEM CZ mags as the Barney mag.

Received the MecGar's with the +2 based and they seem great so far as well and are MUCH cheaper than the CZ Canadian Edition mags.

Cheers,
Chris

The +2's don't fit the production box of uspsa btw. Ipsc might be different tho
