I've got an older cz75, 9mm, I'm guessing it's 20 years old and it only came with 1 mag. Thus, I recently bought 4 new mags from marstar which arrived yesterday and none of them fit the gun. The mags are labled cz75, and obviously the firearm is labled cz75 so I don't understand why they don't fit.

Anyone expereince this problem with their cz75's? Thanks.

In what way dont they fit? I have new CZ factory mags that I use in an old Pre B CZ75 and they work fine although they dont drop free due to the mag brake in the Pre B. If its a case that they just dont drop free then it would be the mag brake but if theres other issues, well then I would suspect the mags from Marstar.

What brand were the mags? Were they Norinco mags or another brand?

The mags will only go half way into the gun, as if the mags are too wide. My firearm is also a pre B CZ75. The mags from marstar are labled:

Number 1321M
Make CZ
Model 75
Cal 9mm 10 RD

If no one has any other suggestions I'm going to call marstar for return authorization.

Ok, if they aren't CZ mags, as in they were not made by CZ, you could have problems. For example, I have some after market mags for my CZ which work just fine with the newer models - I once, by accident, jammed one of them into my pre-B gun, and it took me about 30min to get it out without damaging either part. Aftermarket mags intended for recent/current CZ-75 models don't have to work in the older CZs (some do, some don't).
Same as what you describe - they won't go fully into the grip...

I know you said they were marked "CZ", but the question becomes were they "made by" CZ or just "made for" CZ.

This is what current, factory, 10round CZ mags look like:

I couldn't find any markings on them...

I have had the same problem with new mags in my pre-B, I am not sure if they are the same brand as yours but it sounds like hte numbering is right IIRC.
They were bulged about midway up the body and rubbing against the grip frame, two were really a tight fit (although they all went in all the way with some pressure), after a few practice mag changes I could see the rub marks.
I ended up 'gently squeeezing' them back smaller with a rubber mallet, a vise and some 2x4 cutoffs to protect the finish. They are fine now although evry so often one or two will need a whack with the mallet in the middle of an IPSC match to keep them tuned up.

Cheers

Hmmm Should fit. Were they actually CZ mags or a knock-off?

I ran into this exact problem - glad Gunnar got me a couple CZ mags with the model 85 he sold me (which is working out very nicely, Gunnar, thanks again!) After-market mags suck. I got a couple for $20... you get what you pay for, mine also were too wide at the top of the magazine well. Might you try filing them into shape? Otherwise they're good as paperweights...

I have a CZ75 SP01 and a Pre B CZ75, the OEM CZ magazines that came with the SP01 work just fine in the Pre B but they wouldnt drop free until I tweaked the mag brake spring.

It sounds like its the mags that are the issue, but if you want to check things out perhaps remove your grips to see if you can determine where things are binding up. If its the mag brake spring then perhaps remove it and see if they will slide in and seat properly.

I'm not sure if you can run without that spring in a pre B, I think Gunnar can give you a proper answer on that.
