Hello guys,
I have a shadow and my safety will work only when the hammer is half way cocked. Will NOT let me put the safet whrn its fully cocked. It just doesn't move.

I guess there is something wrong. If it happened to anyone please let me know.

Thank you.

By design.

Lol yes who needs safeties to work when the gun is ready to go off :p

OP your safety probably needs a little more fitting. Now you have to be careful here because you are talking about the greatest handgun in the world and any talk of poor QC will bring the wrath of the gods on you. If bought new contact the dealer and have them deal with it. If used find who is the closest service center for CZ and give them a call. Otherwise fitting it yourself is always an option or buying a new one and hoping it fits perfectly.

Onthe topic of safeties on the CZ...I find I have to twist the pistol in my hand a bit to flick it off. Are there aftermarket ones that are a wee bit larger? SOrry for the thread highjack, but I think you got your answer already. :)

Not quite the same but I have a P07 Duty and the safety can be engaged when the hammer is fully cocked. Effectively cocked and locked.

Unless you have some mods done, if its a new gun, call your dealer or the CZ warranty centre. Safety should engage when fully cocked. That is the primary purpose.

I bought it used and i think someone played with it already. I guess ill take it apart to see and than probably replace the part. Or take it to the gunsmith.

Either send it in to a gunsmith, or take it apart and give it a good cleaning. Sometimes dirt can cause things to not move smoothly, or something is out of place in there.

Try putting oil on the safety. My brand new shadows safety was very stiff and would not move. A few drops of oil fixed it immediately.

It doesn't have a competition hammer in it, does it?

I put one in my 85Combat and the safety needed a lot of fitting. If you're mechanically inclined, and can google the How To for stripping the gun, a bit of work with a needle file is all it takes

Unless you know what you are doing, take the gun to a gunsmith. The CZ Safety levers can be a real hassle of you are not careful. Somewhere in my cave rests one of the springs from that area of the gun and my bank account was instantly $100 lighter after sending the gun to Gunnar to be put back together again.

Take Care

Bob
