CZ858 Brake Problem

3 of us were side by side, shooting our unrestricted 858s today. At one point we tried interchanging muzzle brakes. One pair of rifles could trade brakes. But neither brake would fit what appeared to be an identical third rifle.

The brake would go on and turn a quarter turn then stop, as if the threads were different.

Any one else seen this?

Were the rifles all the same manufacture? It's possible one of them has screwed up threads. Did you inspect it for damage?

The rifles look identical. The ones with the red plastic stocks. The rifle has a screw on muzzle protector that screws on and off ok, so the threads are not pooched.

Edit: Just tried again, while cleaning, and the muzzle brake and thread protector interchanged just fine. Must have been a bit of Camp Borden sand and unwllingness to twist hard.

Threads are identical.

It has to be the rifle then. They maybe gorilla'd on the thread protector so it fits now, but doesn't work for anything else.

Believe they are supposed to be 14 mm x 1.0 right hand thread. 9/16-24 tpi is somewhat close. Would you have the o.d. of the threads? a metric thread pitch guage is also handy...
