At 100 yards you can shoot better with irons, try 25-50. I was really happy with 25-50 even 75 yards with the red dot. Would take it off for 100 yards and use the irons. I have the clip on and off CSA mounts. Mine was under 4 MOA at 75, not 100 yards.
On second thought 100 yards may be ok with a LARGE target but your prob looking at 6 MOA at best if your lucky.
Aahhhh ok. Sounds good to me. I've read online that a rough 20 yard zero will get you zeroed at 200 as well, and put you 4 to 6 inches over and below poi in between 20 an 200 and beyond. Just wanted someone with working knowledge of how the VZ(7.62) shoots at different zeros. Thank you though!
A 20 yd zero will also give you a 200 yd zero with a max rise of more than 3in. at around 110 yd. In other words if you're shooting something at 100 yds you'll have to aim 3in low.
I like to zero mine to 49yds / 100 yds. I know that at 200 yds I'll need to shoot half a foot high.
250yds = 1ft
300yds = 2ft
350yds = 3ft
Zeroing at 100yds gives me a flatter trajectory at the distances I shoot most often. Zeroing at 200yds gives you too much elevation and drop changes at these ranges, imho. eg. you'd have to shoot 2.7 inches low if target is at 150yds and 5.3 in high if at 250 yds. But that's just my opinion.
