Hi I got the cz858 large muzzle brake from wolverine supply. when i screw it on all the way the slot on the brake that the pin in the front site base goes in don't line up. the brake is about 1/4 off from turning on all the way. Does the brake have to screw on all the way or can i back it off a turn so the the pin lines up with the slot on the brake ??

You could try putting a spark plug washer on first and then screw the brake back on using it as a crush washer. I've done this before and it worked out great.
Regards.

How loud are these things? Is it worth the lowered recoil for follow up shots?

I have the crusader on mine . The day I took my ear plugs off to load my mags and forgot to put them back on to shoot was a true Darwin Award moment .
Very loud !
Whether its worth the benefits is a matter of personal opinion .

You actually need a little slop. That is because the torquing that takes place when you fire the rifle. If it's to much presure on that detent then it can work it's self off and unthread.
Look for yellow teflon tape that is used for gas fittings.

I have the heavy break on mine, really makes follow up shots easier.
As to it not screwing on tight, don't worry about it. Mine's 180 degrees off when it tightens up, just index the pin into the cutout on the break and start shooting.
