CZ858 owners - do you change magazines?

This question is for those of us who own or have owned the CZ858-type rifles.

When shooting your rifle, do you change magazines or do you just load 5 more rounds off a stripper clip?

I usually don't bother changing mags, I can load 5 off a stripper clip just as easy.

I cannot for the life of me load my 858 with stripper clips. It requires me to push so hard on the clip that I end up releasing the bolt and causing a misfeed with the clip still still stuck in the action. It's not just me, either, everyone I know can't do it.

So, yeah, I change mags.

All of mine work great with stripper clips, so, despite having a hoard of mags, I load 'em from the top, in the gun.

I load the mags with the stripper clips (I too have trouble simply loading off the strippers), and then change mags normally. Mag changes are fun.

I desided to do a litle milling work to install the B&T adapter to install the 10 round xcr pistol mags. Its just easier to change mags.

Both. Mag changes are fun, but when the mags are all empty, the stripper clips are brought out.

i load my mags with the stripper clip , but went i shoot i change mags ! i bought a chest rig for my 7 mags and i love it
i buy it front hical for the price it very good

I change mags until theyre empty, then reload them all with the stripper clips. Push up on the bolt hold open with your trigger finger, especially with 10 rds on the clip. Its not as easy as an SKS but it works for quicker reloads.

If you are plinking at the range it really does not matter. However if you are shooting under time then mag changes are much faster as there is less movement required. I shot a 3 gun match with one a few weeks ago and came out third. I would have used my AR with LAR mags, but I did not have enough ammo so I used the 858. If you shoot and change mags with one in the chamber it is saves the time of racking the action.

Mags... Ive done both but I find when loading from 10 round clips the last round often comes off the clip and end up laying in the mag well area... if I only have 5 rounds on the clip its less of a problem but I enjoy the mag changes. it feels good.

If I didn't intend to change magazines, I would have stuck with an SKS.
