CZ858 receiver weld normal?

Is this weld normal or something of a mistake in the manufacturing process?

That is made so you cannot put funny parts in it (the government doesn't trust you):D

Edit to add: from what I know you should have at least 2 welds into that receiver.

Do you mean it fills a spot that enables automatic shooting? I suppose saying we do not "need" it here in Canada is one way of putting it. Another clearer way is to say government does not trust society to have firearms capable of such ability. Besides, we do not "need" many things but have the freedom to get them nonetheless.

But, the point is taken. It was a space that was filled. Thank-you.
 
what if you knocked out the other weilded block to install a custom "light or hair" trigger( i have no idea if it can be done) would that be legal if you kept the front weild?
 
thats a tricky one

as you could (CAN NOT LEGALY DO THIS) if the block was removed install the auto disconectors thru you could NOT install the auto trip sear as the slot is welded the auto trip sear is a saftey feature it prevents the rifle from fireing if the bolt is NOT closed

I have the restricted vz58 with the block welded in the bottom as well as the slot welded shut

the block on my botton is rusting and filling up with crud i want to mill it out but not sure of the legality....

I have no intenetion of restoreing the sear slot

dont forget on the selector switch there is a rivit or somthing preventing it from going to the evil side.:runaway:
 
You can machine it out all you want, perfectly legal. As long as it's not full auto when you're done, you can do anything you want to the insides ;)

are u sure on that? becase i would like to remove the block in the back, i couldnt give a crap about the front weld.
 
I'm sure. Just like everyone installs M16 goodies in their AR15's. As long as it's not full auto when you're done (i.e. no DIAS), then you're good to go (i.e. M16 Bolt, Trigger, Selector, etc).
