Has anyone tried to use engine enamel instead of duracoat? It's high temp, durable, and has a similar finish as the factory finish. I cant see why it wouldn't work. I picked up a spare bolt and cover assembly from wolverine and the finish was brutaly scratched up, I just want it to look like my rifle, which is without a scratch!:p Any thoughts? How about oven enamel?

How about Krylon?

Source for the lower hand guard? That is exactly what I am looking for.

And I love the paint job, mine will look similar.

Maybe in the future we'll see.

I've used krylon before, and it didn't seem to wear that well. I don't want safe kisses to scratch things up.

Hahaha yea but really who cares its a work horse not a show pony. As a famous CGNer says "it adds character". Guns should have scratches and dings from use not the safe. :D

On a serious note we're trying to organize a refinishing service for the VZ but right now the issue is figuring out how to structure it. It may require the owner to send us their rifle completely stripped and we return it that way. Either way it won't be an offering until the new year.
