ok so how do you tell if you have a prohib or just a nr cz858. if anyone has some pick ,that would be great!! and if you are in posession of a prohib, does that mean that I/the person that has one ,is entitled to a prohib license.

There are no prohib cz858 rifles. Some are restricted due to barrel length. There are a few converted auto VZ-58 rifles around which have been prohibited since the early 1990s.

If you are in possession of a prohib without a prohib license, you get room and board covered by the Feds for several years.

If you have any 858 currently in the country it is either non Restricted or restricted depending on the barrel length. There are no prohibited 858's in the country, If you want more detail follow the Wolverine threads regarding the CZ858.

What the ####.....

Q.If you go down to the park, and buy a prohib, do they have to give you a prohib license?

A.Yes. I bought some weed, showed it to my doctor, and he wrote me a prescription. In fact, if you acquire a stinger, you can even get a hunting permit for jets. Sadly, the season is very short, and it is hard to ### them when they are at 20,000 ft.

Alright, I think I'm done being a jerk. Welcome to CGN OP, search, and you won't get picked on. As much.

Pull the trigger if you get a bang and then nothing you are probably OK . If you get BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT(insert a six year old's best machine stick sound effects here)click, and have to change mags you might be hooped. Either way you won't get a cool class 12x License .
Not to troll or to be too facetious... I heard a guy who knows another guy who used to work somewhere say that all 7.62x39 and 5.56 ammo is going to be banned and that the guns are just fine for possession only, as long as it's on a Thursday in months with an R in them providing you have taken the CBC media guide to identifying Glocks and AK's course the liberal government is coming out with . And he had a belt buckle with a gun on it so he knows his stuff. Dang I think my sarcasometer just went wonky.

Any one wanna make me a t-shirt with all this exactly on it?

I wouldn't be too hard on the OP. I am waiting on a copy of an email from RCMP sent to a gun dealer friend in which they apparently discuss prohib 858's. I am not sure his description of the letter's content is correct, but I'm itching to read it.

ok so all a got out of this thread is , no prohib's where shipped and sold after the early 1900's . there is the answer I was looking for!! So i don't have a prohib! Good and thanks for all the well thought put answer.

is entitled to a prohib license.

If you read the part of the Firearms Act which deals with grandfathering for Prohibited Classes (which is Section 12 <–– right there), it may become clearer. For an individual to have the endorsement on his PAL for a certain Class of nasty guns, he must have held a legal, registered fire-arm of that Class at the time the current Act came into effect (1 December, 1998). And he must maintain at least one legal Registration in that Class at all times in order to remain grandfathered.

Further, the nasty guns themselves must be grandfathered in order to be eligible for Possession by 12(n) PAL holders; that is, they must already be Registered in the current system, or at least have been registered in the previous system, in order to be considered legal. A new gun in the country does not meet these criteria.

The door is closed.*

*(Under the current system…)
