How do these two non-restricted rifles compare? Any owned both?

Accuracy?
Ergonomics?
Optics mounting options?
ruggedness/durability?
Size/Weight/Compactness?
Trigger pull?

Hard to debate this with a gun barely anyone has really used but the CZ is reliable, easy to clean, righties and lefties can both use it, ammo is cheap, you can upgrade the sh!t outta it, accurate if you use better grade ammo, comes with a lot of stuff out of the box (4 mags, sling, bayonet & scabbard).

Well worth the $700

I've owned a lot of norinco products over the years and, for the most part, have been happy with them. That being said, I dont expect the T-97 to be as good in quality as my vz. As was mentioned previously we'll just have to wait and see what they're like, but I'll still keep my vz no matter what.

I'm not really impressed by the quality of the CZ858, IMO its the Canadian market equivalent to the WASR and other low end AKs found in the U.S. market. I think the basic design is good however.

The T97 remains a big question mark at this point.

The cz's are very good quality and no comparison to wasr's. To outright say that Chinese stuff is junk is ignorant of the facts. That may have been true years ago, but not even close today. Sure, some junk may come out of china, but junk comes out of the USA at times too.

CZ vs. WASR or other low Q AK is a non starter. The CZs are better in every way as far as functional quality. They both have a :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug:ty finish but IMO that does not speak to the quality of the gun.
