Anyone know what the cases are made of on these Czech rounds (the kind you buy at lever arms on stripper clips, corrosive). i hear nickle cases are hard on reloading dies, would these cases be hard on the dies too?

You're kidding right???? Those cases are made of steel and are berdan primed to boot. I don't know of anyone reloading steel case ammo....

im not saying i DID reload i was wondering what the cases were made of....so if i could reload....but steel sounds like it would be very nasty on the dies. i was thinking of just realoding them so i could use non corrosive primers so i wouldnt have to clean so thuroghly every time. But if they are steel those wont be going near realoading equiptment.

Do a google search of Berdan and Boxer primers for a little education........

Buy some winchester 7.62x39 brass. It can be found, I got two bags. Have yet to load 7.62x39 but I got all the components.

i'll reload for it if i ever get that CZ 527 that i want.

7.62x39 might be interesting to reload for a yugo 59/66 in singleshot mode.

Hee hee.... I'm in the same boat!!! I got all the stuff to do it, but have yet to reload a single round in 7.62x39. By the way, I got a bunch of the brass of some fellow Gunnutz about a year ago. Ask around, you may get lucky....... and find some brass too..

No need to be paranoid about the "corrosive" ammo. Your gun isn't going to fall apart because you didn't clean it for a month. Just run some oil on a patch down the barrel and put it in the safe. Having a warm dry safe is good for all guns to keep the moisture out.

But like others said the big problem would be the primers are of Berdan type. Take a look down one of your spent cases and you will see two holes for the primer. Neither is in the center so trying to deprime isn't easy or cheap.

Or loading a blank to use the grenade launching! How far could you get a golf ball?

If your going to just be plinking I don't think you could reload for less than the milsurp costs unless maybe you were loading lead and some surplus powder. If your hunting with it and don't want to buy factory ammo, go for it!
