Hey Guys, Just wondering how czech surplus 7.62 ammo compares to other surplus ammo. Is it all the same? Or are certain types better then others? Is there any non surplus that I should be trying?

i prefere the czech over all the others. i found that the czech seemed more powerfull and accurate through my SKS than the russian surplus, but the MFS was alot hotter but almost double the price. IMHO, for plinking i'd say just get the cheapest/easiest found ammo.

Hey Guys, Just got my 800 round shipment of Czech surplus 7.62x39 ammo. Just wondering how this ammo compares to other surplus ammo. Is it all the same? Or are certain types better then others? Is there any non surplus that I should be trying? I'm going to be using this ammo in my sks.

Sounds good.

Only downside with the Czech ammo is that it is corrosive. Not a huge deal but it does make a difference for cleaning. I prefer Golden Tiger...got a good deal on 1000rds not long ago so i swooped it up.

true, but all i ever do is use some hoppe's 9 nitro solvent to clean it then finish off with a light coat of hoppes oil after. my gun still looks like new and have never had a single problem.
