Hello all, I haven't seen any reviews of this rifle yet, and although my camera is down, I thought I would toss a few lines up to let everyone know what I thought. After randomly running into this piece at P&D on saturday, I picked it up a few hours later along with 500rds of MFS 55gr fmj's.

General appearance of the rifle looks alot better than any 7.62 CZ's IMHO. There are still milling marks on the reciever as per, but the bluing is actually black, instead of that gross off-grey paint on the CZ's. The skeleton synthetic butt stock seems very sturdy, and the foregrip (upper and lower) is very tight with no slop. The barrel appears to be the same outside diameter as the 7.62 CZ's (I don't own one, but have shot a few of them), but being 5.56 doesn't make it look so pencil thin. Safety seems different than I remember on the CZ, but I could be wrong (pretty sure the direction you move the latch to engage the safety is reversed). This unit came with two plastic mags, one clear, one black which once fitted to the rifle did not have any play whatsoever. Sling attached at usual point at front, and just behind the reciever on the rear, which I found quite handy for sling supported offhand shooting.

Once I started getting rounds out, my pleasure at my purchase increased. I have a general mistrust of plastic mags, but did not encounter any feeding issues in the 400rds I fired today . While I was not testing for accuracy, she provided "minute of small pumpkin" accuracy (kneeling) at the 120ish yards I was shooting at with no difficulty. Case ejection was very peppy with most casings flying 15-20feet in front of me.

My only issues:

-in 400rds, I had 4 misfires (as in primer struck, but no boom) unsure if this is due to the MFS ammo, or maybe this more civilian-ish rifle not striking a harder military style primer hard enough?? Just my speculation.

-the snap-on cheekpiece is slightly too far forward on the skeleton stock for me to make a good cheek weld and get a good sight picture(I have a bit of a bobble head thing going on haha) so my cheek is kinda half on the cheek piece/ half off. Also, the removable rubber buttpad has a tendency to fall off.

-while the magazines have no slop once attached, I found sometimes they were finicky to insert, particularly when loaded. Could just be me I suppose...maybe they are not dummy proof.

Definite mods to come...

-a muzzle break/compensator to reduce some muzzle jump. While recoil was negligible, I love double tapping, and muzzle rise was enough to spread too much for my liking haha.

-definitely would like to mount a lower magnification optic on this beast, as I'm sure it would fire some half decent groupings. Already on the left side of the receiver is some kind of base ready for mounts and scope (not familiar with these types of mounts)

Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. Price from p&d was as per the thread on this rifle in the wolverine section of this site. If there is anything I failed to mention, please feel free to ask.

happy shooting...

Hey, waitasec... I think I saw you lined up at the counter with that one. Good purchase. I'm no fan of the stock after fondling one, but that's only because I found the pistol grip much too short, and had to wrap my pink around the bottom.

...

If your side mounted base looks like this:

It's for POSP AK style scope like this:

Next time you're out with it, please tell us about the rifles' inherent mechanical accuracy--i.e. shoot some groups off the bench (front and rear rest).

I will definitely do just that...I only had it out bush shooting, and I don't have a portable bench. When I get it out to a legit range, I will post results
