They are extremely well designed:
The bolt knob is slotted to be the wrench to loosen the scope lock screws - the muzzle is deeply counterbored to act as a flash hider.
They were issued with a kit to measure case heads, chamber wear and a variety of lense filters - I've never seen one of the kits in Canada.
They shoot very well - I won an informal "sniper" competition with one some years ago...
The Egyptian's utilized the Meopta scopes on some of their FN49 snipers.
The Czechs updated them with an adjustable cheek-piece stock, Russian PSO (SVD) optics and re-issued them in the early 1990s as the VZ54/91.
