Czech vz.54 sniper

They are extremely well designed:

The bolt knob is slotted to be the wrench to loosen the scope lock screws - the muzzle is deeply counterbored to act as a flash hider.

They were issued with a kit to measure case heads, chamber wear and a variety of lense filters - I've never seen one of the kits in Canada.

They shoot very well - I won an informal "sniper" competition with one some years ago...

The Egyptian's utilized the Meopta scopes on some of their FN49 snipers.

The Czechs updated them with an adjustable cheek-piece stock, Russian PSO (SVD) optics and re-issued them in the early 1990s as the VZ54/91.

Czech vZ-54 Sniper and accessories

Good Day All,
I purchased my example over 10 years ago from a dealer in Germany who was responsible for exporting a number of vZ54 rifles from the Czech republic onto the market. It was part of his personal collection but moved down the road to fund other opportunities. It is matching (expect for the firing pin)and shows no signs of refurb. A complete spares kit is uncommon but bits and bobs can be found.
Regards,
Mike
