Of the two available mags for D.A. shotguns which do you guys prefer, metal or the factory plastic?

I have steel and poly and have experienced feeding issues with both but wonder if you guys have had better luck with one or the other.

Steel, if you have a factory metal mag that feeds well compare the mag spring in it to the aftermarket metal and plastic ones. My factory mag fed great, it's spring was shorter in length to the aftermarket mags springs. Once I trimmed them to match they fed fine, polishing the follower and mag lips also helped them work nicer.

My shotgun came from the factory with a nylon mag. I also ordered four DA steel Mags from CanAm. The spring in the nylon mag is shorter than the other mags by a coil or two but I don’t recall if one feeds better than the other.

So far I’ve only run low brass white box bird shot from Cabelas through it but dummy rounds run no problem. Go figure. I’ll try polishing the ramp and lips and see what happens.

The longer springs have been the thing that kept the aftermarket mags from feeding reliably, once I trimmed them to match the factory mag spring it was good. Ammo didn't make a difference in feeding with my shotgun, I shot a couple different brands and same feeding. In fact it was the same with dummy rounds before I cut the spring.
