Just sold my 8.5 Grizzly which was a great little gun but turned out to be just too short for anything but room clearing or maybe letting loose on a Griz that was chewing on your foot in your tent. For a few extra inches and less money I decided to try the new Kodiak Marine 13". It is surprisingly light even with the Walnut stock. It's not stainless but cheaply chromed so I have yet to see how it holds up.
Went to the range and put 20 rounds thru of different loads. Having three different chokes is a bonus. The action was stiff (new) but worked as advertised with good ejection and loading. I did, however, have two misfires with the primer dent showing a very light offset hit. Reloading had then fire off with a heavier dimple but still offset. Looking at the other spent shells showed them all offset.
Called the supplier when I got home (The Shooting Edge) and am now in the process of waiting for the warranty dept to contact me. I would have been happy to just have them do a RMA and send me one that the pin hits centre on but I guess they don't do it that way. These guns went like hot cakes an the last two they had are now also gone.
With the 870 type being such a simple breakdown I could probably find out what's going on pretty quick myself but I figure I better wait for the powers that be before the next step.
If anyone knows how I use Google Drive to post a pic I could show the shell hits. I don't have a URL.
