This may be a silly question to some but…..I bought one of these recently on a whim. I had one when a child…..in the late 50’s. I tried it immediately when received and was very disappointed at the lack of power. I am not an air rifle mechanic so just wondering if it is possible to improve the power and how? Dave

The easiest way would be to buy an air rifle with the power you want.

Modern Daisy BB guns have a loose bore and are intentionally low powered and usually quit working within a year.

I had a Daisy pump as a kid in the late 50s early 60s and it was more powerful than any other BB gun around, and I mean way more. Memory may improve on it, but I when the laws came along I used to suspect it would not be OTC legal today. I sold it to some hillbilly kids who appreciated its finer qualities for 10 bucks, big money at the time but there are few if any things I have regretted selling more- but by then I had a birthday gifted Diana air rifle and BBs were old hat. Also had access to real rifles and and shotguns but pellets were cheap and quiet.

Daisy sells spares for their guns. I bought an adult Red ryder as well as a standard one for my son. We also have a Daisy buck. To me the Buck has the most power of all three. I never bothered upgrading mine since they are 10 yard guns and just meant for kicks. I do have others that are good for pests. Which model do you have?

You can 'easily' up-grade power on many break actions...as for those kid type lever actions bb ones, more headache than it's worth. Try searching in YouTube.

check out airgunforum .ca and others. likely heavier springs, change ports, - as said, costly. i bought a co2 rifle for ca $75 that has twice the power. if you have a PAL you can get even more, but until you get into big $$ like $400+, they become WAAAY LESS ACCURATE at higher power.
