Other than posting an ad on EE, does anyone have any suggestions where one might look to buy this, and how for much something like this might run?

I've searched online and the only thing I've been able to find is a de-activated one somewhere in the UK.

(personally, I think this is one of the coolest looking revolvers I've ever seen )

PPC gun

There's a S&W PPC gun at an auction I'm attending on Feb 20th. Give me an e-mail adress and I will send you a picture of it. Its among a collection of pieces so the resolution is not great.

No idea how much it will go for. Depends who's in the hall.

Interesting looking piece, I`ve been shooting PPC for the past 35-40 years and have never seen a dan wesson PPC revolver, good luck with your search.

I don't believe it was a custom, but who am I to say lol... I know there was a similar model called "Dan Wesson Action Cup" that was available, but I think that was only available in SS... and from what I've read I think that was in .38 special (whereas the PPC is in .357 Magnum)

...it does look like it weighs a ton! I'd never want to get pistol-whipped but if it were to happen this would probably be the last one I'd want doing it! lol :p

I just figured, with your BL avatar, it was a pretty safe bet.

Can't win 'em all, I guess.

That said, I'm pretty sure the barrel weight was an optional accessory.

the Dan Wesson PPC revolver was a limited run gun many years ago, not sure when exactly, but came from the factory with all the bells and whistles needed for a full house ppc gun.

early 1980's ish

I shot handgun silouette at that time and recall that was a going comcern for a revover at spruce grove alberta, there was about 4 in alberta at that time, maybe mid 80's but I had a chance to hold one, not my cup of tea, but neat anyway
good luck in yor search, ask around edmonton those that shoot action pistol and you might find one, dont know who to call to help out though

Good luck in finding it. Myself, I'm waiting for a 8" Mateba unica in .454 casull to wander about... You don't happen to own a set of stainless berretta 92fs w/ threaded barrels yet do you;) "Cool as a cucumber Revy. Cool.." Cheers! Thomas
