OK, so I used the search function and found next to nothing on this pistol (Dan Wesson RZ45 Heritage). I just bought one from KO and want some opinions from people who actually own one. I've always wanted a Dan Wesson 1911 and I finally took the plunge, I've heard excellent things and they look gorgeous. Now for the agonizing wait for delivery :runaway: Anyone out there with experience with this pistol? Pics?

Don't have experience with the RZ but I had a Classic Bobtail in .45 for a while and it was a superb gun. Very well built, nice finish, good trigger, etc.

The only issue was that it didn't like the reloads I was buying, it only wanted to shoot factory ammo. I imagine this was because of the match grade (whatever that means, really) barrel and chamber being too tight, and the reloads simply being a little too "loose" for it.

I don't have an RZ but I do have this Dan Wesson PM7.You are going to be blown away by the quality of these firearms. It'll be worth the wait. :D

Buy first, ask question after eh? :D

Dan Wesson makes amazing 1911 pistol, i'm sure you'll enjoy it. You should visit 1911forum; there is a Dan wesson section. All your question will be answered there.

Now, just 'enjoy' the wait :p

BTW I almost bought a RZ-45 heritage myself, Kodiak keep knocking the price, but I just can't right now.. I'll probably go for a Marksman '09 if i can find one or a 2010 Valor around may when they come out.

I've been drooling over Dan Wesson 1911's ever since the PM7 first came on the market. I couldn't help myself when I saw the RZ45 at such a good price, especially when there's rumors of a massive price rise on all Dan Wesson pistols. I already know these pistols are extremely nice, I just wanted some Canadian opinions.......I'm sure the wait will be WELL worth it!

I just looked at the CZ/Dan Wesson website and it looks like they are discontinuing production of all of their less expensive 1911s

I, too, have a PM7. Very accurate and reliable. Amazing quality for the dollar. I would even be bold enough to say that it will give my Wilson Combat CQB a serious "run" at a third of its price. I'm sure you'll love the Razorback!!

The RZ45 is now their entry level 1911, and if the rumors are true the prices will be going way up. Glad I purchased mine when I did.....I'll be sure to get some pictures up and a range report once I get it in my possession.

Now: RZ-45 Heritage < Marksman < Valor

Most of their new models will be based off the Valor from now on; which is a good thing but will come at a price. The price increase won't be that bad according to the reports I read, but still, it's an increase :) You're getting a hell of a deal right now!

Last listing from KO was a price drop to the $1,100 area and all-in with shipping and tax, it must have totalled $1,200 +/-. IMO that's a screaming deal for a NEW DW 1911 (irregardless of model). I join rfo1 & Misfire as having a PM7.
My sentiments on DW 1911's are just like the rest - you'll praise its accuracy, build quality and great looks. Once it arrives, shoot it, clean it and post a pic with your range impressions. Here's my puppy. Happy shooting!!

These are some of the very best looking pistols IMO, thanks for the pics everyone!

As a side note, I have to commend Kodiak Outpost's service, they had my DW transferred and shipped with 24hrs!
