Some ammo makers have been making extremely dangerous ammunition that it is now on the market.

Here are pictures of their ammunition boxes so you can recognize them:

Avoid them at all cost.

.223 in a 5.56 barrel

'Hot Lode' Im guessing if it is .223 can I fire it if my barrel is stamped 5.56:nest:

Nope. The Microsoft calculator on my computer says the .223 cal is 2.493 times too small to fit in a 5.56mm. You will have air all around those bullets when they fire. Literally they will rattle down the barrel. Give up now. :kickInTheNuts:

Would a 'sabot' enable me then to fire 223 in 556, 'CanAm' have you got a line on this ammo, I think GSG9 had some surplus that went on the market a couple of months ago:p

One time at Band Camp, there was this guy who used Norinco corrosive steel core 7.62x51 in his 308 for Bear Defence without checking the headspace and it almost blew up.

Reminds me of some cheap oil I bought many years ago (1977) when I was young, dumb, and broke. It was called (I kid you not):

Lubie Lube.

When the inevitable oil change was done, it came out looking exactly like grey paint.
