I am looking for a quality 14.5" rifle barrel what options are out there? I have just started gathering parts for an ar 15 and want to purchase the barrel next.
Time is not that big of deal as this is going to be a slow project over the next year, just not looking not to break the bank.

I Ideally want a 14.5" daniel defense carbine barrel, I have noticed that brownells recently has these in stock. I know these are a restricted item and have started the paper work to bring one in. What are the chances this will actually get across the border being that it is 14.5" and not 16", has any one tried this before? Any tips are more than welcome!!!

Other barrel options:

S&J hardware- I like that these are Canadian, but have no information on quality.

FN manufacturing - CTCS has 14.7 barrels

I don't want a custom barrel for a 14.5" range gun, Are there any other suggestions.

State Dept generally doesn't approve export of barrels under 16", or ones with 5.56mm chambers. I wish you luck but it's highly doubtful that it will happen.

The FN barrel would have been good, looks like they're sold out.

Your best bet is to buy Canadian or a used barrel in the EE. S&J, Dlask, ATRS and NEA all offer 14.5"

I figured that the 5.56 and 14.5" would be a problem but was told by one of the international sales reps at brownells that I would require a import certificated, DSP 83 form and a purchase agreement that included a end user statement. Before I started getting this paper work together I asked if this would be able to be shipped across the border, and was told that it would be ok and has been done in the past. Just wanted to know if any one else has tried this and if so how did this turn out.

Nothing wrong with S&J other that they are sold out right now :D
I have a 10.5, they are of high quality with awesome finish

They most be really good, because if they weren't you would have heard about it on CGN!

We should have tons of the S&J Barrels in stock soon, in multiple sizes.

We are also gauging interest to see if there would be 100 people interested in some DD barrels.

These will be .223 Rem and .300 BLK in 16" only.

Depends on the day, and which DOS officer gets the paperwork it seems.

Nothing wrong with giving it a shot. Worst they can do is say no.

300 BLK you say? Ball park price point?

Ah shoot, never saw it was 16" only. I would be interested in 300 BLK or 300 Whisper in a short 10.5 barrel. I have a build done minus a barrel sitting around collecting dust since ordering my KAC SR-15.

I've always wanted a Daniel defense barrel. Sign me up farm boy!
Well... Im looking for pencil or feather weight profiling if possible and mid length gas is a must
