Hey!

I'm interested in purchasing a Daniel Defense DDM4 PDW, I live in Ontario. I don't see any of the Canada wide retailers currently selling it, does anyone know if the Canadian market will be getting the DDM4 PDW?

While on the topic, any comparable recommendations?

Thanks!

That was the first thing I did! Waiting to hear back.

I note the Daniel Defense website says Wolverine is the exclusive dealer however I see many other retailers selling DD products.

Strange

That's because those dealers are purchasing them from Wolverine Supplies. Wolverine is the exclusive supplier to all of Canada, meaning they wholesale to other retailers, and retail direct to consumer as well.

Ohh! Makes sense! Thanks for the info!

I was looking at the cost of ammo between 300 blackout and 556 in Canada and the 556 is half the price!

What are your thoughts on the .300 blackout vs 556?

I went with the SIG Rattler, for an SBR in 300blk with a <9" barrel , IMO a piston system is the way to go, and you can eliminate the buffer tube.

The Sig rattler looks amazing!

I keep reading that 300blk was made for suppressed weapon shooting subsonic rounds, as we're in Canada and can't use suppressors does it still make sense?

Well there's much more to the cartridge than that. If you look at what a PDW does, then it makes more sense to go with the 300Blk than say a 9mm sub gun like the MP5(if that was an option) AR's with barrels less than 9" aren't really suited for the job. 300Blk has minimal recoil and out to 100m still has lots of velocity and energy. AR mags are compatible and barrel length(s) down to 5.5" work just fine.

Accuray is pretty good out to 100m and at 25m(CQB distance) it's sub MOA, I'm getting that using 110gr ammo.

300Blk isn't a 200m or 300m cartridge IMO, can you shoot that distance, sure.

Gotcha.

With respect to SBR and Pistol.

I'm inclined to get a pistol configuration so i can hold 10 rounds in the MAG rather than SBR which will be limited to 5 rnd mag capacity.

Am i correct on this??

It doesn't matter. You can use pistol mags in both rifles and pistols. The mag itself is the determining factor, not the platform it is used with.

For paper punching, 5.56 is the way to go.
