Hi,
Pretty much completed my lower. Its a Noveske Gen 2 with a Daniel Defense LPK. Im waiting for my VLTOR tube, Colt Castle Nut, Noveske End Plate, and VLTOR stock to be shipped from Brownells so its not 100% done.

I find the trigger in the DD LPK to be horrible. It feels really gritty... anyone else having this problem with the DD LPK. I assembled it with CLP so its lubed. Same process with every other build.

I have used a RRA LPK in abother build and it was pretty good right from the beginning. The only problem with the RRA is that the pistol grip screw was flat so there was no way to actually screw it in.

Thoughts??

Yup, the DD triggers are pretty gritty. You can send it off to a smith to have it stoned or do it yourself if you know what you're doing.

Just shoot it. The trigger will brake in, Some of the grittiest triggers wear into nice smooth pulls. putting grease on the sear surfaces will help as well.

I don't want a Geiselle trigger for my 10.5 build. A standard trigger is normally good enough.
I was under the impression that DD LPK were top notch, they are not.....or maybe I got a bad one.
That was what I was trying to determine.

Who said DD LPK's were better than anyone else's?

Paying for a name I think.

I had a compliment on a DPMS trigger I have. It is actually really good.

RRA is also a well respected brand for LPK's

DD has that designer name tag now....people hear it and run out and buy it. Even though no one actually says 'Wow' DD LPK's rock.

If you can't afford or justify the Geiselle, the Spikes' Battle Trigger is another option to look into. Really happy with mine & there was nothing really wrong with the trigger in the RRA LPK I used in my build.

Rock River Arms, Colt, Stag, LMT, Daniel Defense, Spikes and BCM all use> L W Schnieder lower parts. w w w.lwschneider.com
The S stamps on the trigger and other parts denote this. Trigger creep and grit is common in most new AR15 trigger groups. Most get better with use. My LMT broke in at 750 rounds or so. It went from a gritty draggy pull to a almost zero creep smooth pull. Shoot it for awhile, and if its not better by 1000 rnds, put in an ALG trigger if it bugs you. If you buy a new RR or Stag trigger you may end up with the same thing you have now.

I bought a DD LPK more for their satisfaction and fit guarantee than anything else. If you don't like the trigger, take them up on their guarantee. I was worried about fit because I had an NEA stripped lower and several people complained about things not fitting. Everything fit perfectly first try though. I'm assuming my trigger will break in with use as others have said.
