I am having a bit of a dilemma trying to decide between buying a sr-22 or buying a dar-22 I think I am pretty firm on what is good and bad about the sr-22 but am having a harder time finding definitive information regarding the dar. Other than the receiver and threaded barrel is there any other changes to the gun I have read trigger but that seemed to be a diffrent gun all together and am not sure if its an accurate review of whats on the dlask site now http://www.firearmstraining.ca/dar22.html

The biggest downfall to me for the dar is the hogue stock I love the stock but it just feels small when i held the ruger target tactical. I don't have an issue with purchasing a boyds tacticool or something along those lines to replace it, BUT will this effect the accuracy the dar seems to be famous for.

Thanks

A different stock will not have any effect on accuracy vice the Hogue. Dlask would probably even sell you the rifle with a different stock. Give him a call and see if he has any others coming in.

The barrel is a match barrel so very tight tolerences and great accuracy. The receiver is lightweight, anodized (instead of powder coated) and has a reinforced top to prevent "humping", so in those terms superior to stock Ruger.

The remainder of the rifle is stock but the bolt has been properly fitted and you can get it with a "trigger job" for an additional charge which I believe is around $65.

The receiver of the DAR is much tighter and I had to polish my Ruger bolt to get it in. The chamber is also tighter and you need a better extractor as well. My barrel is held on the same way the ruger barrel is.

Dlask deal on the complete DAR-22 is worth it and I would have gone that way if it existed at the time.

It sounds like you are slightly stuck on appearance vs function. The DAR is way better fit and finish out of the box with some upgraded parts such as a threaded barrel, etc. While the SR has that black rifle tacticool look to it. Depends on what you want, me personally, I am over looks and want functionality. DAR gets my vote opposed to it just being a base 10/22 in a fancy shell that will require fiddling with. (Once again, I love working on guns but I have already done 3 10/22's to there full potential. Would like something nice out of the box for once on a 10/22 platform)

Its actually more a function vs function situation, do I want a gun that is more of a bench shooter or something that i can do some run and gun plinking with. Its a bit mental really as I have a tapco stock sitting here that i know would perfectly do the job for me but at that point it does become a looks thing tapco'ed 22's are just ugly. Will likely sell this stock and dump the money towards mags.

Regardless of which one i buy first I will end up of on of each over time

Both of those rifles will function great for run 'n gunnin' and the SR-22 should shoot well from the bench too (although you may prefer to shoot a conventional stock from bench, I know I do).
Buy the DAR-22 and see how it works for ya.. if you still want the black rifle look, then buy the SR-22 eventually as well.
I have an SR and a 10/22 sporter - I use both and don't want to sell either - just depends on the weather that day, go to the range with my 10/22 or go off the beaten path with my SR-22 ;)
