I just purchased a nice older M-8 4X leupold for a 9,3x57 Husky I picked up from Tradeex for $175-it was in excellent condition except for the butchered bolt handle -which a couple of hours grinding, welding and polishing handily rectified.The rifle stock was walnut that came up very nicely and the metalwork the usual excellent workmanship of the swedes.So-for under $400 and a few hours work I have a very nice well built accurate rifle,top quality scope that will take anything in NorthAmerica as long as I hold it straight.
Nothing against the latest offerings if you've got the money to burn but it shows you don't have to spend a ton of money to go hunting,and mine will drop a moose or bear just as fast as theirs will
