Mr. Holland's Bio:

Daryl Holland is a retired U.S. Army Sergeant Major with over 20 years of active duty experience, 17 of those years in Special Operations. Five years with the 1st Special Forces Group (SFG) and 12 years in the 1st SFOD-Delta serving as an Assaulter, Sniper, Team Leader, and OTC Instructor.

He has conducted several hundred combat missions in Afghanistan, Iraq, Bosnia, Philippines, and the Mexican Border. He has conducted combat missions in Afghanistan's Hindu Kush Mountains as a Sniper and experienced Mountaineer to the streets of Baghdad as an Assault Team Leader.

He has a strong instructor background started as an OTC instructor and since retiring training law abiding civilians, Law Enforcement, U.S. Military, and foreign U.S. allied Special Operations personnel from around the world.

This 2-Day Handgun course is recommended for those that have attended a shooting course before or who have a good understanding of pistol basics and already have safe gun handling skills. I want to reach out to the students who may carry a handgun for self-defense, on the job (LE/Mil), or shoots competively. Everyone wants to improve their marksmanship ability and gun handling skills. Safety 1st and we’ll crawl, walk and run to the point were any level of shooter will be challanged.

Topics covered will include:
• weapon setup, gear, sights, ballistics, cleaning/lube
• safety
• fundamentals
• accuracy
• positions
• speed
• barricades
• shooting on the move
• reloads and malfunctions
• strong hand shooting
• multiple targets
• stress shooting
• low light vis discrimination (optional)

Days are typically 9-10 hours in length with a short lunch break.

Please contact me via PM or email with any questions.

Several have signed up already, and a lot of others interested.

If you want to train with some of the best...this is your chance !
As an added bonus, those who register now and leave me an email address will be given first choice to attend courses with their instructors in the future.

PS: if anyone is traveling to Winnipeg for this and will need accommodations please let me know ASAP, I am trying to get a discounted rate at a local hotel but will need to know how many will be staying first.

Given that Alias has announced that as of tomorrow 11 July it will be closing its doors and will no longer be operating what is the status of this course? Its interesting too that a lot of the bigger name instructors (Craig Douglas, Pat MacNamara, Larry Vickers, Mike Pannone, Jeff Gonzales)have cut their business dealings with Alias in the last week or so due to issues largely dealing with lack of payment for Alias organized classes.

Well, the status is it will be difficult to hold the course without an instructor.
This is all news to me, and I have not been contacted by Alias as of yet.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention though

Per their Facebook page:

It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that as of Monday July 11, 2016 Alias Training & Security Services, LLC will be closing its doors. An ongoing dispute with our merchant services financial company has made things untenable. Our apologies to all affected students, instructors, etc. To all students of upcoming classes please expect an email early this week to explain the situation in more detail.

Again our most sincere apologies,

Alias Staff

I will attempt to speak with my contact at Alias, and/or Daryl himself this week...perhaps something can still be arranged.
For those that had signed up and gave me their contact info, I will advise you privately via pm / email of how that conversation goes...

I hope this goes ahead still for all those signed up, we need more classes like this held up here. From what I have seen some of the instructors associated with Alias are looking to still hold their classes, just doing so through other agencies etc.

I have been in touch with Mr Holland, and there is a very good chance this can proceed as planned.
There may be news in the coming days and I will update as we progress.

If you have signed up for this course already, please ensure I have your information (email in original post) as they wish to honor those enrollments.

For anybody else interested, let me know and I'll notify you personally as soon as we work out the registration details.

Thank you.
