I need some start and upper end load data for the 264 win mag using 130 grain barnes triple x (tsx) slugs The powder i want to try is Hodgins 4831. Not the new short cut stuff but the good ol 4831 powder

Thanks in advance...Ice

In my reasonably extensive experience with the 264 Win Mag, H4831 (in any Version) is too fast for any bullet above 120 grains if you want the best performance. I had terrific success with the 130 TSX and the 140 Partition using Retumbo, H1000, RL25 and H5010. Regards, Eagleye.

Don't trust the old Barnes manual, catnthehat blew the end piece off a m70 twice with the starting load for the XLC bullet in 264 win mag.

My experience with the calibre was mostly with 120 and 125 gr bullets and the only accurate loads I could get with mine were with h4831sc and occasional primer popping pressures. It was a finicky calibre to load for.

Barnes load data

Look up the Barnes web site they have a number you can call and they will give you the data your looking for. I just got my .375 H&H straightend out by making the call.
