According to this site, no records currently exist for post 71 production.

Not in the current "Blue Book" I have ... records end at 1971 for the 101s.

Give Winchester a call at 1-800-333-3288 and give them the serial # of it and they will tell you right on the phone what you have.
I called them a couple of weeks ago to find the date of a #94 I have, and the guy on the phone was great. He looked it up in his computer and told me right away what I had.

I finally got around to calling Winchester and they were USELESS!!Wrench said:
They couldn't even tell me when it was manufactured. They whined that during the sale of Winchester, a lot of information got lost and they didn't even have product manuals for a lot of the Winchesters to send out to customers. They relied on the Blue Book for the information that they give out now on the Winchester line.
And as we have already found out, the info stops at 1971 for the 101.
I guess if the @#$% company can't tell me, then no one can.
If anyone out there HAS a 101 (12 gauge) that was made after 1971 and knows what year they bought it and can tell me the first 3 numbers of their serial number, maybe I can get an educated guess at mine
Mine is 314 ###.
