Hi there,

Lurker here. I was wondering if anyone has a good online resource or pdf book available for dating a Winchester 69 and Winchester 60A. I believe that the 60A may be rare, from 1932 or '33 with the shorter barrel, but I haven't found a credible source for identifying it.

Thanks for all the help in advance.

Re: the model 60A - copy and paste from a post on RimfireCentral discussion forum for 2015:

"Henshaw's book says they made about 165,000 Model 60's and the barrel was lengthened to 27" in the early 30's. The rare Model 60A was the Target. About 6100 of them were made. I have a couple. Bob"

Re: the Model 69 - search on Wikipedia - describes alterations made every few years - match up to what you have - also note several name changes over the years, so important to precisely identify what you have.

And thanks for the other link. It appears I have the older version of the model 69 as well, with the exterior takedown bolt and older bolt. A couple variances that probably could be ironed out if I buy that Henshaws book or find a copy online.

I did find "a" book on Winchester rifles with a Henshaw as one of the three authors of that book, on Amazon.ca. I have no clue if that is the book that the RimfireCentral poster was referring to, but looks like a good start?
