No i done mean a candle lit dinner and taking it home to see your mother. Although some on this forum would think that appropriate
How do you put a date on year of manufacture . Mine is a screw in barrel
has made in china on the side , and also an inverted triangle inside a vertical triange with a line on iether side of the inverted one, Apparently factory 0406
Also i bought mine from a local dealer , and it appears in a used condition , the metalwork is fine and a smooth shiny black finish , but the woodwork looks like it may have seen some action. I have seen many other out of the box SKS's and none looked like mine , Also the matching serial number is also stamped accross the but stock..
and appart from a few Zeros and a letter, only serial numbers are 666
Oh no its a devil gun dont let the anties find out

check out the sticky: sks basic, under the title identify the origin of your sks.

its usually (some factory may differ) the digit of the million plus 1956 = the production date

example, the serial no. on your receiver is 12,345,678 then its 12+1956=1968

Folks, that method only works for Factory (Triangle) 26 rifles...not any of the others. Factory 26 is the only factory where the original starting date of production is known, all of the others came online sometime after that but nobody knows when.

The best you can do is detrmine whether it has older era, mid era or late parts..

Cheers

in that case , i stand corrected, my understanding of the sticky was, it applied to most of the factories.

btw, my 2 sks are from factory 26.

Yeah sometimes I take my SKS out for long walks in the park... sometimes along the beach. Then we go back to my apartment and spoon on my bed whilst oiling her innards. Yyyyyyyeah baby.
