It's here arrived about 2 1/2 weeks ago but only had a chance to shoot it 3 times so far for a total of maybe 200 rounds.

Here is a report from this last Saturday I took my 2 sons out for the day the older one is 25 years old and the younger one just turned 3 last week... :D

OD Green XCR-L in 223 scope is a Leupold VX3 2.5-8X36 Boone & Crockett reticle rings are Dlask Arms Corp 1" medium height...

I need taller rings to fit my 4-12X40mm LR reticle scope, I also have a VX111 4.5-14X40mm 30mm tube Varmint reticle scope that I want to mount but also need new rings so it will fit so I can really work on accuracy.

We deer hunt right here were we are shooting a fellow I know shot 2 deer here this last fall because I slipped up after 2 1/2 months of him asking were we go he went in the very next morning and shot the biggest 4 point blacktail I had ever seen 50 yards from were we start hunting from which is about 200 yards away from the truck and shot another about 1/2 mile away the very next day with a buddy of his that he took in.

Yes the guy is a major back stabbing ass for sneaking into our spot...

100 yard groups scope was set on 8X my eyes aren't what they used to be basically I don't shoot much better than this unless I move up in magnification...

40gr V-Max do not do well average velocity = 3375fps = 25.5grs H322

img_9174.jpg

52gr Speer HP's average velocity = 2978fps = 23.5grs H322 (this was a starting load I need to go at least 1gr more)

img_9175.jpg

60gr Sierra HP Varminter average velocity = 2948fps = 23.5grs H322

Here is the one picture in a larger format so you can see what the OD green XCR-L really looks like.

Only extras that I have put on the rifle so far are 3 Magpul OD green ladder rail covers and a OD green Miad grip and I am still on gas setting 4 and haven't had a failure to feed/fire yet.

I don't have pictures but my 3 year old with my help and two trigger fingers shot 10 rounds off as fast as he could pull the trigger he was in heaven... :D

Is your pocket knife a Kershaw?

That is my son with the knife in his pocket I'm the old guy with the sun glasses and yes it is a Kershaw folder we feel that it is the best pocket knife available.

I have to add I was very surprised to see the 52gr Speer HP's group as tight as they did from a 1 - 9 twist rate barrel I just didn't expect it I will definately be giving these a bit more attention.

All XCR's in the world right now are called XCR-L (L stands for light and means short action uses AR15 mags) that is until the XCR-M (M stands for medium and means medium action and uses AR10 mags) is available.

Then we will all be using XCR-L/XCR-M to describe our XCR's.

XCR-L = 223 length cartridges

XCR-M = 308 Win length cartridges

Not yet have only left it on gas setting 4 so far.

from what I understand I am to fire 400 rounds to break it in then lower the gas setting its working great right now so I'll leave it on 4 until it is time to change it.

I'm trying to get to the club this afternoon if I do I'll put another 50 or so rounds thru the rifle so it should only be a few more weeks before I start changing the settings.

#12....there's one in every crowd, isn't there?

<shrug> the Kershaw observation was already taken.... and
stating the obvious like "the white balance on your target photos is 2000K off" would make me sound like a nerd and not an a$$.

;)

ok I'll try to redeem myself.... Nice XCR.... and your 3 year old can shoot....> a camera < well!

Colored receiver

As many others I'm contemplating your green XCR.

Do you have to special order the colored receiver or they (Wolverine?) had it among others?

Enjoy! :)

From what I understand Wolverine brought in 3 OD Green and 3 FDE the rest were black.

I special ordered mine and even ended up having Terra (XCRMonger) put a few finishing touches on it and post a few in process pics for me.
