DCP marked 94 SRC

Picked up a couple of Dominion of Canada proofed marked Winchester Model 1894 SRCs this weekend and one has PN1 mark on it. Any ideas as to what this may mean?

Never saw a stamp like that before on a DC Winchester. Does anyone know how many 94's the government purchased? A friend has a 92 SRC that has the DC flags but it also has British proofs so I'm guessing it may have been one of the 92's that served in the Royal Navy or maybe sold post WW1 in Great Britain as surplus.

Finn Neilson told me years ago it was a Rocky Mountain Rangers rifle, mine was made in 1914. Does your rifle date to 1914

Mine has those same stamps - Serial # 743### - don't have a clue as to their meaning tho

Are there any Inspector's marks on it. Check under the wrist. There may be a Crown over a number.

The 2 that I just got are 746### and 731### range. I am more interested in the PN1 marking.
Not sure the Rocky Mountain Rangers were around this early.
