DD float rail alignment question/insight

Recently purchased a DD V7, While I have been waiting for my registration to come in the mail have had a few days to admire my first AR. In this process I have noticed that the barrel is closer on one side to the wall of the rail tube.It isn't super obvious, but noticeable, as the gas block and gas tube almost touch the side wall.
I took an inside reading with a caliper from barrel to the side.. one side is 10.32mm and the other side is 11.95mm.... seeing that I will be using fixed iron sights.. what do you guys think... ????

Looks like I can set my windage on a windless day.

Not complaining just looking for thoughts/advice as I am not sure if this is acceptable or not?

Try loosening the set screws that mount the rail to the barrel nut. I'm not familiar with the new DD MFR's, but if they are installed somewhat similar to their other quad rails, it should be relatively easy to unfasten/fasten. So anyway, loosen the screws and re-tighten them in an alternating fashion, kind of like when tightening wheel lug nuts on your car...so maybe top left, bottom right, top right, bottom left. If you have an optics picatinny base, you should use it to hold the rail firmly in place to the upper reciver...it will ensure that the rail is aligned with the upper. Try your best to tighten the set screws equally at all four corners and see if that helped to get the rail even on both sides of the barrel.

You should also be able to download the PDF install instructions for the MFR from the Daniel Defense website.
 
I have contacted the dealer.. and I am positive they will help if this is considered a situation, just waiting back to see what they say.

I did read in my searches that someone else had a problem with the barrel nut that the rail attaches too.. but there again what is acceptable or spec .. and what is not…. if this is within spec then so be it.

Anyhow my registration showed up today.. ATT in hand as well.. have to go shoot it in the next 2 days.

I would definitely try Strider's suggestion of re-tightening the bolts bit by bit and in an alternating pattern.

I think most would be surprised at how much difference it can make, and in the end it'll be rock solid but more aligned. DD is cranking guns out so fast that tightening a rail down is probably with a screw-gun and AS FAST AS POSSIBLE.

I took the darn thing off and remounted it… A real piss poor system if you ask me. As it turns out, I could only put any pressure on the 2 screws on the right side of the tube,if any pressure is applied to the left side screws the entire tube starts to pull it's self to the side..(BOOO) Not sure if this is an issue with the tube or the barrel nut that it attaches too, but I do have to give it two thumbs down.

Call Daniel Defense and speak with them personally about the issue. I'm pretty sure the last time I called them there was an option to speak with a gun tech. They may be able to sort this out for you...
 
Try attaching a red dot or scope mount that is long enough to span across the upper and the rail, to hold both of them together, than tighten the screws in alternating order (top right, lower left, lower right, top left)
