DdFab 1911 Wrenches?

My sti was the first 1911 that required a wrench.....I defy even the toughest fingers to rotate it in either direction without one...is it me or are people getting grumpier on here?....op...get the plastic one and don't look back.

Have had 1911s that stripped down easy and others that were a bear. Standard recoil spring set-ups usually easy, full length guide rods get tricky not much to hold back on. Have two 1911s with full length rods now and need a wrench for both. You can get one from Brownells that has an ear sticking out the side so once you turn the bushing you can control the spring and plug disassembling and assembling. Cheaper if you just get a small piece of Lexan and make your own.

i'm not ust amazed at the number of things don't know about their pistols or haven't BOTHERED to find out- the us army has a neat little comic book with a cute blonde a la rosie the riveter that explains every facet of the 1911 and the function of these parts , with daily maintence

There was a well-known comic book for the M16 rifle featuring Connie Rodd from PS Magazine, but I don't think there was a booklet specific to the 1911. You could probably find some 1911 material in old back issues of PS Magazine, though.
