De-pistol-gripping a 14” Benelli SuperNova

I’ve been a Benelli fan for a long time. I really like the 14” SuperNoval Tactical, but I’m not a big fan of the pistol grip - I much prefer a traditional shotgun stock. To this end: can anyone confirm that a regular SuperNova stock will fit on the SuperNova tactical?

On this topic, who else has decided to move away from a pistol grip? (Not a PGO, but a shoulder stock with a pistol grip. I have a reason to ask, but not on a benelli.)

I put a strait stock on my Benelli M4 :)

I cut the length down and changed the comb angle to more strait. (with a cheek riser to finish a zero angle stock) For a slug and buckshot gun I like the more inline recoil and less cheek slap with a strait stock.

I bought a used Benelli M2 Tactical with a pistol grip, and swapped it out for the traditional (ComforTech) stock.

I had a Hatsan Optima SA with the PG and sold it too. I just don't like the ergo's of a pistol grip on a shotgun personally.

I like pistol grip stocks, but only on certain guns, and the recent trend towards a tighter radius on the grips of conventional stocks gives you many of the positives of the pistol grip without the downsides.

Sweet. I like the Mossberg 590A1 Heat Shield. Does it affect the take down of the shotgun?

Nope! barrel comes right off. The handguards have to be trimmed down in height a bit - and the back trimmed for the tabs - to fit it on. I have heard (never tried) that the actual 590a1 heat shield can be fitted with very minimal fitting.

I kinda like having to trim the handguards down though, as I fit the panels to the heat shield nice and snug so it can't rotate off axis at all. You also have to trim the heat shield tabs so they won't hit the pistons.
