Any interest out there for a deactivated Garand? I've got one that was previously a notorious re-weld with an unsafe safety bridge and a frankenbarrel from a 1903 spliced onto a garand stub. This was done back in the 60s I believe so it was a sad story written before I was born. I've been thinking of putting on some parts that wouldn't be suitable for a functioning rifle and creating a wall hanger or instructional piece.

I could see myself purchasing something like that. If the price was right....

I wouldn't be at all interested if it was priced anywhere near a really rough functioning rifle!

I saw a picture of a floor lamp made out of a dewat Garand... I think it would be a nice addition to the man cave!

Hey, how are all the rest of the parts on this Deactivated M1 Garand?

Barrels are easy to source and receivers are cheap at SFRC for under $50. Now you have a functioning Garand.... Am I reading too much into this baby?

Cheers,

I'd be interested if the price is right. I've had a receiver, barrel and trigger group for a few years just sitting here due to lack of affordable parts

It really depends on how much of the rifle you have. Forget that receiver and barrel - other parts have value.

If you want an unserviceable bolt, Marstar should be able to supply one.;)

I stripped anything really good off of it years ago. It had the winter safety on it, an uncut oprod and a lock bar sight. Everything else was put back into my parts pool. I've cobbled together some pieces I've taken off my other rifles for wear, pitting, function lack of park etc. There are some useful pieces on it but I wouldn't say it'll make a good donor rifle hence the direction i would head with it now. Really what other reasonable future does this rifle have.
