If I find a dead bird eg: gull, am I allowed to be in possetion of it, even if I didnt shoot it and it died of natural causes?

Could I contact the MNR and tell them, and get an exemption to any laws about it?

I think you need permition/tags and or licence to be in posesion of any wildlife including roadkill and other animals you didn't personaly kill. I think you can call whoever issues tags in your province and get permition to pick up dead animals. Gulls are the Queen's bird you might not be able to have those.

Handling a bird that is dead may be exposing you to whatever it died from. It might be different if you saw it's demise( hitting wires or window ,.etc).Most Provinces have birds that are protected and ones that you need a hunting license to shoot or possess and some that there is no closed season on. Call your Conservation officer if you have some protected bird that you wish to have stuffed or whatever.
