Dealer interest in Prvi Partizan ammunition?

Thanks for the feedback guys! Especially you, Splatter; you've got the wheels turning.

I'm not sure how much Prvi Partizan ammo prices are going to jump due to the increase in base metal prices. I'm noticing the American companies are sold out of the calibers they had in abundance a short time ago.

I can see milsurp calibers doing well in pistol and rifle. The nice thing about Prvi Partizan is that they usually offer several different choices in each caliber.

I'd definitely like to test some of it first and compare it to other commercial brands. I’d want to know; how powerful and accurate it is, how effective the hunting rounds are, how cleanly it burns, how good the brass is for reloading, etc.

I wouldn't mind selling the stuff, but I must be able to believe in their product 100% and know its strengths and weaknesses. I don’t like selling junk; especially if it is something I wouldn’t use myself.

Best regards!
:)

I had 5 boxes of 180grn soft point 303Brit, paid $12/box

It was loaded fairly warm, bullets expanded well in wet phonebooks, jugs of water and retained weight well. Only shot one deer with the ammo and did not recover the slug, good damage from a sholder shot.

very nice brass for reloading too, on the 4th reload of the brass, fired from various enfields and full lenght sized each time and it still looks good for another few reloads.

Only wish that I had more

I would also be interested in a few hundred 7.62x54R (brass cased), and perhaps a few hundred 7.62x51, 30-30, and whatever else I just happen to be low on.

Thanks Woodchopper!

I'd like to hear all the feedback I can get about Prvi Partizan (positive or negative.)

I always liked the 180 gr. loading in both .303 British and .30-06 Springfield. It always seemed to give exceptional accuracy (or maybe that was just the rifles I had.)

I'm glad your brass is holding up to several FL resizings. I've just bought my second No.4 Mk.1 but I think when I finally start reloading I'll keep the brass seperate and try neck sizing only.

I'm just starting to get some reloading equipment so I have a lot to learn!:)

Cheers!

:D

I also try to keep my ammo sorted by rifle, except that I have a rather largish collection of enfields and I like to try to shoot them all, making keeping brass sorted a bit of a problem.

I do hope that we can find someone who is willing and able to import prvi ammo or brass for reloading

These are just a few of the calibers I think would sell quite well if they were priced reasonably. More esoteric rounds could always be added later if the demand was there.

Pistol:

9x19mm
.40 S&W
.45 ACP

.357 Mag
.44 Rem Mag

Rifle:

.223 Rem
7.62x39mm
.308 Win
.30-06 Springfield
.30-30 Win
.303 British
7.62x54 Russian
7.92x57mm Mauser

There are a myriad of other calibers not mentioned that have following; but I think the ones I listed would cover a lot of what is popular and available in quality firearms.

I've left out the belted magnums only because they aren't available in milsurp rifles (unless they've been sporterized.)

I pity you for your problem!:D

I do too!:)

Unless changes have been made, don't even consider .243. I quit selling it several years ago. It gave every indication of being over pressure. Lots of customer complaints.

I have 6 of those calibers too!
I have used the 30-06 FMJ from privi
Shot well, Accurate, not too stinky.
I didn't save the brass, because i was not then reloading.
but it looked good enough.
I definately think if you could get it approved and shipped,
it would all sell in short order.
I have priced out bulk 303, 45acp, and 308, in the recient past and the prices on some are just nuts.
Keep us informed if you do get serious, you could probably sell half a container of 308 just here on CGN!!

If the loads where soft points, they would move. I would add 6.5X55 Swede to the list. Every milshoot I have been to, someone cries that their supply is low.

I tried a couple of boxes of PP 6.5 Swede once. It wasn't good because the rims were too thick so they would have trouble getting under the extractor and consequently they would have trouble getting into the chamber since they couldn't easily get under the extractor.

Well friends, to be honest I don't care what European ammo companie's product gets imported, I am just fed up of my only options being Win,Rem,Fed.

When the cost of 1000 rounds of Sellier & Bellot 9mm 115grn FMJ is $125.00 US and they have it in stock by the truck load, I get a little upset nobody is bringing it into this country.

Well guys, I’m happy to hear your opinions and experiences. It’s not good to hear that certain calibers have inherent problems. I’d like to think they had quality and consistency across the board.

Right now the only thing prohibiting me from becoming an importer/dealer is lack of capital. However, you can be certain that this will be the first place I’ll make an announcement if I ever do get in the game.:)

Best regards!

I have 9 of those calibers right now, (10 if you count 6.5) and am slowly picking up dies for all of them. Untill someone imports some decent surpluss or afordable plinking ammo, thats about my only option:(

The only reason I didn’t add 6.5x55 and 7x57 to the list was because I don’t see the rifles chambered for them being imported like the others. Both are fine calibers, and I’m sure there are a lot of milsurp shooters that would love to have some ammo for their rifles.

You’ve got a good idea, Splatter. One of the ways mining companies gather investors is to guarantee selling them their ore for a fixed price. That way if the price rises (like now) they are still purchasing the metal at the lower price they negotiated for.

Something that could be done here would be to have investors that are helping to supply the start-up capital. In return for their investment they would receive product that is priced just slightly higher than cost.

Food for thought.

Take care!
