Dealing with Eric Brooks

Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone else has had issues ordering stuff for their CZ452 from Eric Brooks?

I placed an order with him on the advise of a thread I posted here inquirying about taller bases to get over the rear sight on my Lux.

He has not replied to 3 e-mail inquires I have made and even a voice message. I used Paypay and just opened a dispute regarding item not rec'd.

Perhaps there is a reasonable explaination for the delay but it is frustrating.

I have never heard of anyone having trouble with Eric.
I would be very surprised if there is not a reasonable explanation.
He spands a lot of time on rimfirecentral, goes by "brookie" I think.
You could ask about him there, someone should know what's up.

Cam,

About a year ago I ordered from Eric Brooks. After a couple of weeks I emailed to inquire. His return email stated that he had no record of my order. I told him I had my cancelled check and a copy of my order which I would send to him. He said that wasn't necessary and he sent the merchandise to me immediately. (I sent the copies to him anyway)

There have been many posts from members of the RimfireCentral CZ forum regarding Eric Brooks, not all of them flattering. Personally, I think he's an honorable guy who, for whatever reasons, has trouble running his business in a smooth, workmanlike fashion. I know some others will be much less charitable in their assessment of E.B., but that's my take on it.

My recommendation would be to send him a hard copy of your order and payment method (can you, did you, make a copy of your (FRAUD ALERT) transaction?). And, of course, an inquiry about the status of your order.

Hope this helps - Bill

I ordered a trigger kit for a CZ452 via a money order with all my contact info including email the end of December/2007. Sent an email last week asking for an update. No reply from Eric BROOKS. Guess the $15 gamble did not pay off.

More and more people are having problems getting their orders filled by him. But he always takes the money. There are many, many threads and posts on this subject over on rimfire central. Perhaps it's just gross disorganization on his part, but not everyone gets what he's been paid for. And he really needs to step it up, not to mention acknowledge that there are problems.

This is the email I got from him about a week after ordering a 452 trigger kit:

Many thanks for your order. My apologies for the delay in processing it.
I will mail it today and you should have it in 4-7 days.

1 week later it was in my mail box, 3 weeks total no biggie for me I wasn't in a hurry.

I paid by (FRAUD ALERT) in November. In December he offered an appology and a "should have in two weeks". I have sent emails, and finally started the process through Mastercard, and today (FRAUD ALERT) advised that if I have not heard from Brooks or received the merchandise, to do nothing and they will credit my account. My first order was a trigger kit, and no problem; second time unlucky . . .

My March Mastercard bill reflected the return from (FRAUD ALERT). He does not answer emails.

Like MidnightRun, I ordered my kit about 2 weeks ago. I ordered on a Saturday. I recieved an email on Monday saying thanks for the order it will be sent out tomorrow. I got it exactly one week later. I questioned dealing with him as well since there was a lot of issues with him on Rimfirecentral. I'm sure he is a busy guy. He better have a great excuse for not coming up with orders.

Thankfully my stuff is here so my transaction was a good one.

About 3 months ago I ordered the trigger kit, bases, action screws and pin pads. delievery was very fast however there was a problem. I had heard about the delays with him but my parcel had the trigger kit listed as in the package on the duty slip. I certainly paid for it but it was nowhere to be seen.

I scanned the duty slip, my order confirmation and took a picture of what I recieved. 3 repeated e-mails later with no response and on the last two I included "response required" in the subject. I had them tagged with a delievery and read reciept. they went in his box but he never read them.

So 3 months later no satisfaction and no hope of getting my trigger kit. It all adds up to horrible service and a p.i.s.s.ed off customer. At least if he replied and called me a liar cause it was on the inventory slip I could just be mad. Not responding at all to my inquiry was the worst thing he could do.

I won't recommend buying from Brooks.

I ordered a bore guide and a trigger kit for my CZ 452 on Feb 13/08 and recieved it today( March 3/08) .I paid via (FRAUD ALERT). Transaction went smooth as silk.

I never did receive a reply from him so I filed a complaint with (FRAUD ALERT) regarding the lack of communication and response from Eric Brooks and had a refund within 3 hours.

His reply to me: I am sorry this was not shipped. I cannot economically ship internationally with a service offering tracking. I am refunding your money. My apologies for the lack of response.

I never did ask for tracking information. All I wanted to know if this was shipped.

Order if you must, but it's hit and miss.

What a silly reply. I doubt anyone ordering will have any problem paying whatever the shipping charge may be. Him saying it's not economical for *him* is ridiculous. He really doesn't have a clue about running a business at all.

This is all disappointing to hear. I bought a trigger kit from him about 4 years ago via e-mail and credit card. I got the product in my mail box in under two weeks. Its a good product at a very good price. I found him very communicative via e-mail.

I'm guessing that he is overwhelmed by his own success.

That's what a lot of people have guessed, that he's just not organized enough to deal with the amount of orders he's getting, and a good number of people are getting the shaft as a result. How hard can it be to keep a list of people who have ordered which parts, and keep track of which orders have shipped!?! What's bad about it is he doesn't seem to give a rat's ass about people getting the shaft unless they're willing to stand up for themselves and file complaints with their CC company or (FRAUD ALERT). And even then he sometimes doesn't respond, and the people just get refunded by the CC company or (FRAUD ALERT). I think he needs to decide whether or not he really wants to run the business, and either step up, or get out.
