I’m am looking for a .300 win or wbm mag

The two guns I’m stuck between are the
Browning mountain pro burnt bronze .300win mag and
The weatherby backcountry 2.0 .300 wbm. And suggestions and opinions will would help. Thanks

I've only owned a regular X-Bolt and a Mark V hunter, but I can tell you this 100% definitely for sure beyond a shadow of a doubt that the trigger on the Weatherby is far, far superior.

With a trigger spring I got my X-Bolt down to 3 pounds, 3 ounces. The Triggertech on my Mark V broke at 2 pounds 13 ounces out of the box, and adjusted down to 2 pounds 9 with a few clicks. Feels really good right about there.

Another small note, the Browning Recoil Hawg brake is really quite good, probably better than the Accubrake.

Braked, they are both hilariously long.

Inflex recoil pad over the Weatherby. Weatherby stock geometry over the Browning. I prefer a hinged floorplate, so I kept the Mark V in .300 Wby.

Have you priced out ammo and availability for both? That would make up most people's minds but I like unique chamberings regardless of price.

The Weatherby will be a nicer rifle but they tend to be heavy, even the Backcountry models. The Browning tend to be decent shooters but I find the bolts really stiff and the actions rough. The cartridge choices are very comparable in performance but the Winchester will be much more easily available off the shelf and more affordable than the Weatherby.

Focus on the ergonomics. Which one feels better in your hand and in the shoulder?
