For some reason, my full length resizing die - after 100 rounds!

I think there was one case of PMC with the rest being Remington. After the PMC case, the decapper was broken clean off! Anyone else ever get this?

Yessir. You hit a berdan (military) primer, it has two holes side by side instead of one in the middle. You done broke the pin. Higginson Powders has spares . I think they are $3.00

I have since screened my range brass and tossed the military stuff.

If its less than 2 yrs old its unconditionally guaranteed and they will replace. You can send them an email (info@leeprecision.com) and photo as proof and a brief description and they will send u a replacement. Great folks to deal with but u may want to try Higginsons first as they are the Cdn distributor for Lee.
Cheers

You might also check to ensure the top nut to the decapping pin is always tightened down.
I buggered an RCBS decapping pin and the rod it was mounted on when I didn't.
RCBS replaced it N/C when I phoned to order a new one.

Had the exact same thing happen while de-capping .38 Special a couple of weeks ago with a brand new die. Called Lee, told them my story, they dropped a de-capper pin in the mail and it was here in 6 days no charge!

This is my first attempt to reload .223; all I have is .45 and 9mm dies :(

Wish I could have at least loaded one round. Am I doing it wrong, to load range brass for the T97? Clean, resize, decap, trim, chamfer, clean, prime, charge, seat.

My die broke before I could get to the priming step - and worse, my fraking tumbler just died! Damnit!

The astral context is working against you. You must give up reloading. Get a second job instead and pay for factory ammo. :owned:

the problem lies in that while you could use the 9mm to punch the primer, you won't get the sizing needed - i had a similar thing in reverse i had a 9mm that would leave the pin in the case - ie it kept pulling out of the rod with ivi cases- replaced it with a one-piece rod from a 223 die set, and told lee about it- turns out the ivi brass was ever so slightly smaller in the flashole and that's what was gripping the pin- i also got a new pin from lee, so i heated an old finishing nail to cherry red and soldered it to the rod

Grab a couple of extra parts as well, so the next time it happens (and it will if you're picking range brass) you're back up and running faster (... been there, done that, bought a few t-shirts ...).

As much as it's a PITA, you should start sorting by headstamp - it'll give you better accuracy (preventing the mixing of larger capacity civilian cases vs. reduced/thicker military cases with crimped primer pockets) and an opportunity to cull the berdan primed cases early. Also makes it a bit easier to track number of firings.

READ THIS ; if you WANT TO GET OUT OF THIS SITIATION IMMEDATELY . SEND ME A PM and be PREPARED to go to THE SOUTH SIDE OF TOWN- I HAVE 2 spare DIE SETS , OF WHICH I WOULD BE WILLING TO LEND YOU ONE until your replacvement comes in

CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY VIA PM IF YOU NEED TO REALLY RESOLVE THIS SITUATION- I FOUND A SPARE PIN in my junk box- i'll sell it to you if someone gives me a currnet price

Well - it's through your mistakes that you learn the most IMO.

Thanks T-Star! Problem solved - now to my next problem, fixing the motor on my tumbler :) That one seems quite simple, a simple splice of a wire and a lot of electrical tape I think will fix the problem.
