Would anyone here like to recommend a decent/easy to use Goose call please, also feedback on any to avoid may be helpful too..

I've seen the Knight/Hale two piece call in Cdn Tire for $28, any thoughts on this?
Cheers,

I bought the knight and hale. It's terrible worst i've heard actually. If they still have the lohman's there then thats a way better call. If you can find an older faulk's they work great.

When you buy Knight and Hale stuff, buy a jar of Vaseline too. Makes it easier to shove it up your a** for all the good it will do ya.

Want a great goose call???? Send me $30.

Depends on what you want to spend? Th RNT Goosezilla is a pretty good call for under $50. I know BPS sells them, you could also order one from RNT. I believe Zink also makes a very good polycarb call that is also easy on the wallet. Otherwise, you could get into the acrylics and easily drop 150 on a call! Mind you, the quality in sound is a lot better but they all work for the most part!

yah the RNT (quackhead) goozilla is a great low end call if you want a high dollar call get the foiles straight meat honker

A short reed call will give you the greatest vocabulary but does take some time to master. If you want to go that route find a copy of Honker Talk by Shawn Stahl, the DVD will teach you everything you'll need to know for meat calling.

Canada Hammer is a great poly call, excellent to learn on, it'll kill ya geese. Honker Talk is an amazing instructional video, when I was learning the short reed I learner more from this video then all the others I watched combined. I just picked up "Bad Grammer", I haven't had a chance to watch it yet. After you buy a decent poly call and start to get good on it you'll want to branch out into better acrylic calls. Take a look at what GK and Buck Gardner have to offer. I've used a lot of calls and I keep coming back to these. Especially the GK Canuck.

If your just learning to call, get a Big River Long Honker.Very easy to use, sounds great, make honks and clucks, and I've called in a pile of geese with them.

Great starter call and I like the wood version better over the plastic one but I do use both. Even my 3 year old can make a good sound with it 50% of the time. You should have seen my wife's face :runaway:

I also have lohman's call for any newbie's I bring along.

Pass on the Knight and Hale, I have owned several K&H goose calls and I wouldn't again.

I have been looking for a good short reed call for a while and I think I will buy the above mentioned video if I can find it.

If your interested in short reads, I'll second that Honker talk is a great vid, so is Primos's video on goose calling, for short and long reed. I also like the Primo's short reed call. I have a custom I like better but the Primo's will get the job done. Avoid Knight and Hale, I have bought at least a half dozen of their calls, mostly for birds, and have had no success with any of them, even with their instructional videos. Even after learning how to use a short reed I don't get theirs to work. Oh the goosezilla by quackhead mentioned is good too.
