Other than cz and Cimarron are there any other makers of modern exposed hammered sxs shotguns that are affordable as in under $1800? Longer barrels preferred 26"-30"

No, there is no decent, modestly priced modern hammer gun.
Look for a 1960's Italian hammer gun proofed to modern standards.
A second choice would be a Baikal hammer gun which should be reliable, but lacking refinement.

You can buy a PedersoliLa LaBohemianne for under $2,000 still, and they are fantastic hammer guns.
I have used mine extensively for several years on everything fro clays to geese.
Great fnish, well made guns tha are stel aproved with screw in chokes

The CZ Hammer|Classic I owned was a decent gun, but t finish was not near what the Pedersoli is.

This is my buddy's Pedersoli after a big pheasant shot we were on.
He bought this one used with a custom case for les than $2000 as well

Another vote for the Pedersoli La Bohemienne if you are looking for a modern hammer gun in your price range. It is a great gun that combines old tradition with new. Who knows how long it will stay in the price range it is at.

My hunting Pal and I lobbied Pedersoli to do a a series in 20 gauge but they decided not to.
However FAIR has started to produce a hammer double 20 and we should have two of the first three in North America by the second week of January!:dancingbanana:
Price however s a "bit more" than $1,800:p

My buddy is the one wanting a hammer gun. I was just trying to find him some modern examples. He's getting his license this spring and to make his life easier I talked him out of an old turn of the century hammer gun as his first gun.
He absolutely loves the Charles Daly hammer gun I recently bought off the EE but it's damascus with 2.5" chambers

Well, unless he wants to learn how to load low pressure smokeless and black, his best bet would be to grab the La Bohemienne or the CZ Hammer classic , which is quite a bit cheaper than the Pedersoli to start with.
