Need some advise on a decent night vision scope for under a 1000, will be mounted on a rimfire 22 or 17hmr. Need for varmint control on my farm and as much as I try they just won't accept my day time invitations for a friendly meeting. Thanks in advance.

For that price range atn xsight is about where your gonna get.

For the money they actually work fairly well and suited to what your doing. I’ve hunted twice in the USA with one, and was surprised how much you can see at 200/250 yards in the pitch dark (using the included IR illuminator). It’s a digital unit, not analog. I prefer the lower power 3-14 than the 5-20 given the choice.

For less than a grand, Poor man option is a very good light, or depending on your intended target, maybe one of the red/green filtered predator hunting lights.

Armasight Orions are pretty solid units. They are Gen1+ and come with pic rail mounts ready to go. Probably overkill for a .22 and will likely weigh more than your rifle, but em varmints won't stand a chance!

I second the ATN X-sight. For what you are wanting to do, this will fit the bill. You can also use it in daylight, so you don't need to keep swapping scopes.

I have a photon rt, almost new I'm considering selling. I'm new to NV but I found the quality great. It was more of a toy that I just don't use.

Sight mark also offers the wraith which is still a digital unit but offers full color display for daytime use
They are nice units but are heavy and bulky
