Decent no drill scope mount for enfields??

I have a no1mk3*, and no4mk2 that I do not want to bubba in any way.

I've done the web search and have "read" up on the various no drill scope mounts for the enfield. There's the ATI, Bsquare, S & K, and the cad technik. The cad seems to get the best reviews, except that robertmc has posted that his was fubar.

Does anyone have any firsthand, second hand or folk tales on who makes a decent no drill scope mount for the enfield, or does such an animal exist???

Maybe it's just me though, I've never held it or tried it. Does however seem to offer the best way of mounting a scope without making any permanent alterations.
 
The cad IS very high, but rock solid... Unfortunately, I don't believe they make a version for the round receiver of the SMLE - Only for the No.4 or 5 flat sided receivers.

The ATI is a nice mount and so far has held quite well after 80rds or so , and I used it for the last deer hunt.
Remove the rearsight and the mount will fit inside the receiver . Two screws will tighen through the sight pin holes and two small allen screws from underneath the mount ( at offset angles) tighten the mount in....easy as pie.

The B-Square is a sturdy mount which I've also used for hunting/range quite abit. This mount , fits over the receiver like a cap . It also passed a "drop test" when it slid off the side of my truck ...lol. It comes with a replacement rearsight pin and 2 ( different lengths) replacement ejector screws.
But...I had to "fit" the rear of the mount so it actually made contact with the receiver at the sight pin holes. The pin that comes with the mount is a joke...take it to Canadian Tire and match up a bolt/nut , then toss that *&#! B-Square pin out.
I'm quite confident with it now , it's currently on my son's '43 Savage .

Scopes will sit at about the same height over the receiver with the ATI or B-Square.

How do these mounts affect bolt removal for cleaning? I knoticed that the CAD Technik needed the rear sight to be removed to clean, since the Bsquare and ATI mounts seem to take the place of the rear sight, do they have to be removed to remove the bolt?
 
The CAD does NOT require removal of the rear sight...

The mount is a two-piece, return to zero type. If you take the telescope half off the mount, you can still use the irons, or flip up the rear sight for bolt removal.

Then you put the top half of the mount back on, and away you go.

I had the CAD on my No4Mk2 for awhile, but the beast was a bit heavy with full wood and the telescope on top. Repeatability to zero was perfect, with removing the top half of the mount for cleaning of the rifle ( I do so hate Hoppe's on my lenses! ).

I have two Cad-Techniks and at various times have mounted them on a couple of No4s and a No5. They worked as advertised. They do place the scope high, but a replica sniper cheekpiece deals with that on one of my rifles and a Beartooth comb-raising kit (neoprene sleeve on the butt with a set of variable thickness pads of closed-cell foam to slip under it, building up to the desired height) is the solution on my others.
 
I toyed with the idea of putting a scope on my Lithgow SMLE but gave up on the idea, the best mount I guess for the #1 MK III* would be the S&K but it requires that you chisel out some wood from your forestock and there may be issues with the clamp that secures on to the clip charger (rear is a clamp on the charger front is a round clamp that sort of fits over the receiver ring). The drawback is it makes your irons useless in an emergency. I bought one of the ATI bases from Marstar for same, all I can say is I wasted my $. PM me if you want the S&K base I have.
 
I have the ATI Scope Mount and it really does the job.
So far I have fried around three hundred rounds and it is still tight.
