Deciding on 1911. STI Trojan or Kimber TLE/RL II

I'm looking to purchase a 1911. Gotta have one of those So far I have narrowed the selection to two models

Kimber TLE/RL II and STI Trojan 5.0. Both are similarly priced so the small $$ difference does not matter. Oh its got to be .45 ACP nothing else. I like the night sights and rail on the Kimber but the STI looks great too.

Decisions Decisions.

Which one would you pick. What is your experience with Kimber and STI.

Voting Kimber just because I have one - I almost got the RL as well but decided I liked the clean look a little more (and saved a few dollars)

I plan on getting the TLE/RL II in black with some nice alumagrips and a Surefire X200 so my vote goes for the Kimber.

my TLE/RL II is the most accurate 1911 i have ever shot (out of a dozen or so)...truly scary how well it works

My Kimber can do 2" benched groups at 25 yards easily, the STI may well match it, but I'm sold on Kimber.

Toss a coin....this is one of the few times you can't lose!
Both are well made, accurate, reliable and a pleasure to own/shoot!
My advise is, which ever one you choose, start saving to get the other in another calibre!

Purchased an STI Trojan 5.0 in 9 mm recently. Very fine pistol. Can shoot it far more accurately than any other 9mm I have owned or fired. The way it stays on target is incredible. In short, I love it.

Paulinski, check out the STI Lawman. I got one last year and it's awesome. They are very well made and tight, you won't be dissapointed.

Like was said earlier,either would make a fine pistol.
I have an STI Trojan in .40.
It is a well built gun for a fair price.
I wouldn,t part with it.
I got mine from Gunnar at Armco.

I just bought a Kimber TLE/RLII and am looking for an X200 or better to mount on it. I also have a Kimber Target II SS in 9mm and it is a pleasure to shoot and dead accurate ; and a Kimber Custom II in .45 ACP, same deal. Why I got the TLE/RLII I am not really sure. I guess I just love Kimbers so.

Anything out there better than the X200 for mounting under a pistol on a short rail?

Theres the StreamLight TLR-1 which is just as good and the same as X200 but alot cheaper.
